How long must the hair be before I Can get waxed? 

At least 1/4 of an inch – the hair will break verse being pulled out of the follicle 

Should I Trim the hair?

No- Your  esthetician should trim to avoid cutting the hair to short!

Preparation?

  • Exfoliate – About 12 to 24 hours before. 
  • Make sure area is clean 
  • Recommended to shower before hand

How often? 

4-6 weeks in between wax appointments, however everyone differs on how fast or slow their hair grows.  It takes a couple of consecutive wax visits to sync your hair cycle with the waxing cycle. The goal is to eventually have all your hair at the same growth phase. 

This will help you have smoother for longer experience.

Should I shave in between session?

NO! 

Shaving interrupts the growth cycle and is strongly discouraged by your esthetician. 

What can I expect afterwards?

You may have a histamine reaction but any irritation only last 24 hours 

It is strongly recommended not to work out, avoid sweating, and no intimate activity for at least 24 hours to avoid ingrown hairs / further irritation.

GROWTH CYLES

It’s important to keep in mind the phases of hair growth when you start to consistently keep up with Brazilian waxing. Catagen phase and telogen phase the hair is not ready to be waxed. 

There are three hair growth phases 

Anagen– the growth Phase  actively growing hair lasts from 3 to 5 years 

  • Nourishment of the hair follicle via blood supply enable hair growth.

Catagen– The Transition Phase –  this hair last 10 days 

  • Hair follicle detaches form nourishing blood supply 

Telogen– the resting phase  – lasts 3 months 

  • Without nourishment the hair follicle doesn’t grow.
